About The Builder
|
OK, this is the part where I am supposed to tell you all about me and all the stuff I’ve done
(boring but necessary).
I am a second generation custom home builder. My father, Robert Christiansen, earned his
contractors license the year I was born, 1962. He worked as both as a builder and framer on
many homes in Beverly Hills, Trousdale Estates and Malibu in the 60’s and early 70’s. He then relocated
to Ventura County, California and built dozens of large custom homes until his retirement in 1984.
We did all of our own concrete, framing and finish carpentry "in house". That's where I learned the
basics and fundamentals of doing things the correct way! When Dad retired, I spent the next
several years working for some small and mostly large companies, in capacities ranging from
Superintendent through Development Manager and Vice President of Construction and Development.
“I’ve built thousands of tract homes and multi-family units, as well as large commercial projects
and land development, but my true love and favorite thing is to see people excited about their
brand new home, knowing that I had a part in making their dream come true!”

My wife Lori and I have lived in the valley since 1993. I have built custom homes in California,
New Mexico and Arizona, ranging from the East Valley, to Scottsdale, Phoenix, the West Valley and Prescott.
I also own Desert D. Development and Desert Investors, both companies enhance Desert
Residential Builders in development.
Lori first started her Real Estate career when she was 16 years old, holding Open Houses
for her grandfather, a broker and custom home builder. Lori worked in the mortgage industry for 8 years
before staying home to start our wonderful family. The Lord laid it upon our hearts for us to work
together as team, so in 2004 Lori obtained her Arizona Real Estate license and began selling Max's
developments. Now, Lori is an integral part of DRB and it's day to day operations.
Our team includes Max & Lori, Jacki our DRB Office Manager and Lori’s assistant, Brent our General
Superintendent, Mark our Assistant Superintendent, Ken Guest of Guestimations our Designer and
James Winterstein of MAS Designs our Interior Decorator, whose work has been featured in Phoenix Home and
Garden Magazine.
